Sight-fishing for marble trout

As I say in the film, "Fly-fishing is more like hunting." Sight-fishing means we walk upstream, spot a fish, analyze its behavior, and adjust our method and position to catch it in one cast. Wild marble trout rarely give second chances — but with our knowledge and techniques, even beginning fly fishermen will experience days they never forget.

Sometimes we spot a fish and land it within one or two casts. Sometimes we don't. Fishing still depends on conditions — but with 25+ years of experience each, we maximize the odds.

What to expect

We choose a meeting point together, arrange the license, prepare gear and find a good starting point for practice casts. Then we walk and scan the river. When the guide spots a fish, we adjust the setup and pick the best position. Access is rarely easy — you should be in good physical condition. Depending on timing and location we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant or eat from a lunchbox, then continue the hunt.
