The Film

A love letter to the Soča Valley
— in 4K HDR.

Fifty-nine minutes across four seasons in the wild heart of Triglav National Park, following the marble trout and the people who fight to keep the river wild.

Official trailer

In Slovenia, at the heart of the wild and largely untouched nature of Triglav National Park, springs one of the most beautiful rivers in the world — the Soča. After only 140 kilometres it flows into the Adriatic, where it is called the Isonzo.

Its turquoise waters and tributaries are home to a very special species of trout, the marble trout (Salmo marmoratus), which was threatened with extinction due to hybridization and survived only thanks to the elaborate work of researchers, fish farmers and fishing clubs.

Shot in ultra-high definition with high dynamic range imaging and Dolby Surround, the film brings viewers as close as possible to the wild rivers and canyons — in spring, summer, autumn and winter.
